SEO Specialist Internship
The SEO Specialist Intern will get to experience working alongside a team of professionals in improving a website's overall rankings on search engines such as Google while utilizing their researching, analysing, and creative skills. The SEO Specialist will participate in tasks such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks as well as learn about strategies in content marketing, content growth and SEO. This role will involve working closely with the Operations Manager on a weekly basis. The SEO Specialist Intern will have the opportunity to apply their skills to solve various “real world” challenges faced by the company and have the opportunity to become a valuable team player over a timeframe determined by the employer, the student and/or the student's supervisor.
Website Development
We would like to work with students on a new website for our organization. It can be on any platform that the student believes would be best. Students should be prepared to: Conduct a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Create a design proposal including wireframes or low-fidelity mockups for our company's review. Build a fully-functioning website, with our assistance in providing content and copy. Provide training on updating and maintaining the site.
Digital Relationship Management for a Tropical Houseplant Start Up
Petit Soleil Studio is looking for an SEO, Google and Shopify wizard who can help us drive more traffic, improve our ranking, and convert visitors to shoppers. We are a local business that needs to attract local customers online and in our 2 consignment locations, and we also run a digital course that we target Canada-wide. The primary project requirements include: 1. Keyword analysis to determine relevant search terms to our business 2. A strategy document to outline: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) requirements to ensure our organization appears on the first page of Google for relevant keywords A Customer Relationship strategy from first search on Google, first visit to our website, multiple purchases, leaving and reviews. How this interfaces with social media 3. Creating a Customer Relationship sequence of pop-ups, emails, surveys, etc; working in tandem with social media team on this. 4. Implementing the strategy. Ideally, students will have a personal interest in houseplants, maker culture (e.g. Etsy), DIY or living a nature-centric life. It's an asset if student has knowledge of organic reach and paid advertising through Google and Facebook. This will be a Level Up intern position with some day to day supervision. I am a formally-trained teacher and have mentored over 20 university-level interns in my former role working with a social enterprise. Working with me will be a positive and enriching experience. Level UP - UI/UX Website Design for Cosmetics and Tech
Number of positions available: 4 individual students. We are an early-stage startup focused on developing wearable technologies for beauty. Our first product is internally referred to as ePolish. ePolish are artificial nails that can instantly change colour from a mobile app by bringing the ePolish into proximity to the phone. Our team is entirely comprised of technical founders who are currently focused on finishing the prototype. We want designers to help us build our website interface to attract both customers and investors. So far, we have secondary research showing that women aged between 18-24 will be our target market. We want to position ePolish as a luxury product in fashion and technology. The overall goal of this project is to have an interdisciplinary team that can be customer-focused and collaborate to ensure our website is appealing, intuitive, and enjoyable. UI goals: Create UI for the website. Upload designs to Readymag for publishing. Ensure UI fits our branding. UX goals: Design personas based on user research. Ideate the customer experience and customer interaction with our website. Give a presentation and a written report of these findings at the end of the internship.
Website Development
We will be developing a new website alongside the launch of our new products. Brand Identity and Graphic Design
Our company is looking to solidify our identity with a. brand guide and a sell sheet. We are looking to better connect with our audience by standing out and being memorable while also being able to use the designs the students offer in a corporate setting. We are looking for real designs that we could use in our branding as well as general branding knowledge. The right candidate would work to create consistent promotional branding for the company. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching the brand identity. Work to create a branding guide for us to reference Work to create a sell sheet that can be used with retailers Help create prototypes using software tools that can be implemented in our marketing Research into the competitors to see what they are doing. Creating custom branding sheets with colours.
Style Guide Creation
The main goal of the project is to create a style guide for The Human Factor Community Organization to be used in all print, electronic, and film media. The style guide will consist of any digital assets such as logo and how it is to be used, colors to be used for various causes and for main use, and, fonts and how they are to be used.
