Implement a Social Media Campaign for a Non-Profit

WHO WE ARE The Learning Disabilities Association of Canada is a national, non-profit organization founded in 1963 and incorporated in 1971. The organization works with and supports the provincial and territorial associations as the national voice for persons with learning disabilities and those who support them so that people with learning disabilities have equal opportunity to reach their potential and to thrive in their communities. WHAT WE WANT TO ACCOMPLISH The Learning Disabilities Association of Canada (LDAC) has created an online Research Hub containing the latest Canadian research on learning disabilities. LDAC plans to release a quarterly annotated bibliography to interested subscribers summarizing the main findings of research released on the Hub, helping parents, educators, and those who support people with learning disabilities to stay informed. Subscribers will also have access to online webinars hosted by experts. In these webinars, research will be reviewed, critiqued, and clarified. Useful insights and relevant discussion will also be generated. Subscribers will have the option to purchase an all-access pass or access to singular webinars and research summaries if they so choose. Given that LDAC is a non-profit organization, paid subscription options should remain highly affordable. LDAC’s goal is to provide easily accessible, actionable information that will improve quality of life, quality of work, and quality of education for all those impacted by learning disabilities. WHAT WE NEED The LDAC anticipates publicly launching the online Research Hub in October 2021. To achieve this we will need a marketing campaign with an emphasis on Social Media including Facebook, Twitter, and others to create awareness of the Research Hub so that it will be supported and become financially viable. Previous projects have laid the foundation for who our audience is, what they are looking for, and what types of marketing would they respond to. LDAC needs the research from these projects to be amalgamated into the next phase - a Marketing Strategy for the October 2021 launch. Previous Projects: 1. Social Enterprise Plan - University of Toronto 2. Marketing Strategy Plan - Douglas College 3. Audience research of professionals and how they translate academic research into clinical practice - University of Alberta 4. Audience research of teachers and how they translate academic research into classroom practice - University of Alberta WHAT IS THE PROJECT This project requires a Social Media Marketing Strategy to be developed for the October 2021 launch of the LDAC Research Hub . Learning Disabilities of Canada - Marketing Strategy

Part 2 - Marketing and Communications We are seeking students for Part 2 which is the Marketing and Communications Plan. This will require students to use Part 1, the Social Enterprise Plan as their starting point. From there they will develop a Marketing plan for the Learning Disabilities Association and the Research Hub. LDAC is a non-profit organization that has received grants but relies primarily on donations. We expect this Marketing and Communications Plan to be entrepreneurial in nature to think beyond traditional avenues for donations. The impact of people with a learning disabilities is felt in the education, employment and mental health sectors with a huge economic and personal cost. Although there is research to support this, the impact is still underestimated by professionals in these fields, Awareness will create understanding and this will support the need for the Research Hub and drive donations. Part1 - Social Enterprise - Completed LDAC has just completed a partnership with students for the University Toronto who developed a Social Enterprise Plan for the organization and for the introduction of it's new Research Hub. Mission LDAC will incorporate its Research Hub as well as new avenues into existing wide-spread practices to foster a safe community and empower people with learning disabilities, those who care for people with learning disabilities, and professionals, emphasizing the importance of accessibility to information and promoting and improving awareness.

In our efforts to target a new demographic of Millennial consumers, we have experienced challenges maintaining a consistent voice across media channels. We want you to assist us in updating our branding in a way that clearly differentiates us from our competitors and serves our target Millennial market. For this project, you will need to: Understand our brand and mission (i.e. LDAC Research Hub) Conduct research on our users, stakeholders, and competitors. Analyze our competitive landscape. Identify trends and opportunities in our target market. Develop a marketing strategy to promote our brand Create a Marketing Communications Campaign You will have access to our marketing team, who will communicate regularly with you and provide all the information and clarification needed.  We want to increase our brand awareness in the millennial segment through a mission-aligned marketing campaign that works within our budget and time constraints.
