Linguistics - Language Research

ENGL1671

Feb 9, 2024 - May 3, 2024

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from Ohio Northern University to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Learners in this program/experience are introduced to the study of how languages work, examining sounds, forms of words, sentence structure, meaning and usage, as well as providing a comprehensive view of human language ability. Learners will also explore syntax, meaning, context, language changes, sociolinguistics, and acquisition.  The majority of learners are TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) minors and are planning on utilizing tools learned in this class either in the classroom or with L2 speakers.
