Details

Local Grown Salads is looking to create a wiki, for internal and external use. Currently, we have a list on our project management software, JIRA, on what pages need to be written and some basic content for the pages but we are looking for content writers to improve/expand the information that we have. Each student will be assigned various subtopics from the topics mentioned below, based on their expertise/knowledge.

Content topics include but aren't limited to:

  • Produce - e.g. on the wiki page for Kale, information may need to be written regarding the light needed, nutritional information, harvest yield, etc.
  • Services LGS offers
  • LGS Equipment and Technology
  • Food Safety

Sidenote: Each subtopic is one wiki page.

Local Grown Salads uses the same software for our wiki that Wikipedia uses and so students will be learning skills related to creating a Wikipedia page.

Deliverables
  • Write content
  • Research
  • Communicate
  • Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines
  • Understanding the target audience
Mentorship

During this internship, students are treated as equals. We value their opinions and ask them to present their opinions so we can discuss the topics and potentially adapt the wiki accordingly. With the main benefit of seeing all aspects of a firm and how it is developed, whilst giving interns the freedom to develop their skill set

  • Regular daily access
  • Provide all available resources regarding the project
  • Discord and email for ad-hoc communication
