We would like help from students with backgrounds in journalism and public relations to support our trade publications, with a focus on sustainability.

Students should be prepared to:

  • Help us refine our stories around sustainability to something compelling and news-worthy
  • Write up articles around multiple news-worthy stories
  • Identify media channels that are most beneficial to us/most likely to pick stories up
  • Send press releases and establish positive rapport with media contacts
  • Secure media exposure for our 2 publications within the environmental industry
  • Apply their creative skills in design, infographics and digital communication

Topics may include, but are not limited to: Spill prevention and clean-up, hazardous materials management, contaminated sites clean-up, dangerous goods transportation, regulatory issues related to waste management, energy-from-waste, the 3Rs, and the circular economy.
