The County of Wetaskiwin provides transparent governance in the allocation of resources to deliver quality services in a sustainable manner. Council has an approved Strategic and Business Plan focused on strong proactive leadership, safe progressive communities.

The County, 40 miles southwest of Edmonton, is made up of the rural districts bounded by the County of Leduc and Brazeau County to the north, the County of Camrose to the east, the Ponoka County to the south and Clearwater County to the west and includes the hamlets of Alder Flats, Buck Lake, Winfield, the Village at Pigeon Lake, Westerose, Falun, Mulhurst and Gwynne.

The County is located 20 minutes south of the Edmonton International Airport on Hwy 2. There are approximately 80 fulltime employees and a number of seasonal employees hired in the Spring. The outside workers are part of the International Union of Operating Engineers #955.
