Project Examples
Requirements
Students who have fully completed their second year or third year may choose to participate in this Service Learning course. When approving a project, we make sure the students are doing work appropriate for a third-year level (i.e. meaningful, provide opportunities to learn and be actively involved) and will allow them to make connections between their placement experiences and other science courses they have taken. Students can only be signed in to the course (by Michelle Bondy) once they have an approved project. Students are available from the following programs:
Faculty of Science:
- Biomedical Sciences
- Environmental Science/Studies
- Physics
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Computer Science
- Integrative Biology
- Forensic Sciences
- Economics
- Chemistry
- Biochemistry
Project examples include but are not limited to:
- Science communication and education projects
- Environmental advocacy and awareness campaigns
- Citizen science projects
- Website/app development for non-profits/community organizations
- Research and data analysis for non-profits/community organizations
Additional company criteria
