Students will produce a recruitment plan identifying:

  • A value proposition.
  • Target audience and recommended avenues to reach the target audience.

Students also prepare a selection plan including:

  • Recommendations on creating an application form with minimum qualifications.
  • Example interview questions and standard answers on which to rate responses,
  • Provide recommendations on pre-employment testing and assessment tools with the reliability and validity of the methods.

Students will prepare a 10 - 20 page written report outlining their proposed recruitment and selection recommendations. Students will also prepare a short PowerPoint presentation that summarizes their report.

Requirements

The emphasis of these projects is for students to experience how organizational recruitment and selection theories are applied within workplace settings and/or address industry challenges. As a guide to consider what projects your organization would be interested in submitting, below are some examples of potential projects:

  • Conducting a job analysis identifying worker behaviours and characteristics to select candidates qualified for a desired position.
  • Review and provide the pros and cons of using a selected pre-employment screening tool.
  • Determining interviewing questions including a scoring key with answer categories.
  • Create a guideline on how to write inclusive job descriptions.
