Bring on our students from the University of Winnipeg's Psychology Department to be your virtual interns!
Our students have specialized in: physiological psychology, perception, learning, cognition, developmental psychology, personality, social psychology, and abnormal psychology.
Students in this program have emerged with a sound understanding of the richness and complexity of human beings, with a broad range of competencies (e.g., spoken and written communication skills, critical thinking, quantitative abilities), and with an appreciation of how people can be understood scientifically.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, these placements may largely occur virtually.
Learners
Deliverables will depend on individual internship.
Project Examples
Requirements
- Advising on staff well-being, improved collaboration and participation, mediation
- Conducting psychology-focused research and analysis of studies
- Providing community training, including bystander intervention in harassment and potential violence situations
- Working in community health, social services, and/or clinics while assisting in projects promoting health and well-being
- Working on social issues on a community, group or individual level, such as family violence prevention, alcohol and other drug addictions, suicide / self-harm prevention, LGBTIQ, violence against women prevention, employment, housing, refugee support, support of those with mental health diagnosis.
