Sustainable Life App is working on a recycling and compost project that requires an exhaustive list of various waste materials that residents dispose.

Material lists are abundant, as municipalities have lists of their accepted waste materials and where each material should be disposed of depending on the municipalities' waste diversion strategy. We need to assess the correct data to help inform our decisions to generate a concise list of materials that would be adequate for most municipalities.

Through a deep dive of municipal waste diversion lists, we hope to identify key categories of waste diversion that will seamlessly be applicable to most municipalities. We want to be able to provide this revolutionized list to our partner municipalities so that they can identify proper waste diversion behaviour for their residents.

We believe that there is enough industry data available to complete a universal waste diversion list. It would be extremely helpful for a student group to look at our industry and identify key waste material categories. We are open to all information that seems appropriate and valuable.

Using these findings, we would like a well researched list on waste materials, with detailed descriptions and sorted into effective categories that will mean the most to the future of our business.

Students will be provided a liaison throughout this project, with whom they can regularly interact with and receive guidance if needed.
