Details

Developing a prototype antenna system for a radio and electronics project.

The student should be able to create the mechanical and electrical design. We will fabricate the antenna prototype after that.

Antenna maybe in frequency range of 100 Megahertz and 1 Gigahertz. These will be relatively simple in design and anyone with prior experience or interest in this topic should apply for this opportunity.

Deliverables

The student is expected to complete:

  1. Simulations of the antenna design.
  2. Design of the antenna and creation of a bill of materials for the antenna design.
  3. Discussion of the key tasks involved in the fabrication of the antenna prototype.

The main deliverables at the end of the project will include:

  1. Antenna design in the format compatible with Ansys.
  2. Schematics files in PDF format, PCB Layouts in Gerber format
  3. Preliminary Design report in PDF /Doc format. Appendix of the document should contain the list of references utilized.
  4. Any mechanical drawings in STEP format.
  5. Spreadsheet containing the Bill of Materials to fabricate hardware.
  6. Document in PDF / Doc format containing the process steps involved for fabrication.
Mentorship
  1. Access to simulation softwares and computing resources
  2. Mentorship on the technical and managerial aspect
  3. Access to manufacturing tools and fabrication facilities, as required
  4. Clear communication with the students on the deliverables, providing references for design and regular interaction to ensure goals are understood at every step of the process.
  5. Mutually agreed technical deliverables at the beginning of the project as well as with every call ensuring learner concurrence before taking any step forward.
  6. Permissible design reports, simulation results and progress images that clearly show milestones of the work done without infringing on any IP of the products being developed.
