Project Justification: Just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff team grew significantly. Additionally, the staff team has been working from home since the beginning of the pandemic, resulting in limited access to software and applications such as QuickBooks. Our internal processes have not been fully and systematically reviewed and updated to create efficiencies.
Project Scope: Students will document, review, analyze and provide recommendations for the following processes:
- Membership fee payment
- Accreditation reviewer reimbursement
- Standards and Accreditation payment processes
Project Goal:
· To update processes to be more efficient in this remote-work environment.
Project Deliverables:
- Develop project plan
- Interview staff teams to gather information on current process
- Document existing process
- Analyze existing processes
- Make recommendations to improve process
- Work with staff team to gain agreement on the process improvements
- Document and communicate new process
Position Qualifications:
- Current Business Process Management/Optimization/Improvement student
- Experience with Lean, Six-Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
- Experience with Flowchart maker/diagramming applications (eg. Visio)
- Project management training or experience
- Highly motivated and takes initiative, while holding oneself accountable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills
Students will report to the Director, Centre for Excellence and will meet 1:1 on a weekly basis.
