Details

The main goal for the project is to build a membership site on the Wylo platform for Benessere North, a not-for-profit organization that helps women with high blood pressure, weight issues, and other chronic health concerns to optimize their health and well-being primarily through transitioning to a whole food plant-based diet. The site will serve as a platform to guide and support these women in their health journey.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

- Learning about the mission and goals of Benessere North from Dr. Vivian Polak, the founder.

- Researching and understanding the specific needs of the target audience, including surveying the current members.

- Developing the membership site on the Wylo platform, including scripts for Dr. Polak to create onboarding content.

- Creating a user-friendly interface for the members.

- Implementing features for coaching and support for the members.

- Integrating resources and information related to whole food plant-based nutrition.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

- Developed and launched the membership site on the Wylo platform.

- Created a user-friendly interface that meets the specific needs of the target audience.

- Implemented features for coaching and support for the members, including edited Q&A videos and cooking demo videos.

- Integrated resources and information related to whole food plant-based nutrition.

- Provided documentation and training materials for managing the site.

Final deliverables:

- A fully functional membership site on the Wylo platform.

- Documentation and training materials for managing the site.

Mentorship

I will meet with the students weekly, or more frequently as suggested by the educator or the progress of the work being done. I will give access to Wylo as well as Fusebase (if this would be helpful for the project management - though I do not know how to use it yet).

About the company

Company
Elora, Ontario, Canada

Hospital, health, wellness & medical, Non-profit, philanthropic & civil society

This is a start-up not-for-profit that helps women struggling with high blood pressure/ cholesterol, weight issues, diabetes, and many other chronic health concerns to prevent, suspend and whenever possible (which is often) reverse their chronic diseases, primarily by using the healing power of plant-based nutrition. We also incorporate the other healthy lifestyle pillars or habits.

Vivian Polak, MD, provides the coaching to the clients by way of courses and a women's community for on-going expert guidance and support. It has been enormously helpful to have a few people volunteer from time to time to help get the message and assistance out to the public - with video editing, marketing, website design, other IT support, etc.

Incidentally, my first undergraduate degree was in Business Administration (Western Univ, London ON), but after a few years of working in business I went to medical school, so I need lots of help with many facets of the nonprofit.
