structural analysis feasibility studies structural engineering materials science risk mitigation planning safety engineering innovationYour Sweet Spot Life is planning an innovative interactive open-air performance suspended above a walled section of the Bay of Fundy in Saint John, New Brunswick. The project requires an engineering assessment to determine the feasibility and safety of the performance setup. The primary goal is to ensure that the performance can be executed safely without compromising the structural integrity of the setup or the safety of the performers and audience. This project will involve analyzing environmental factors, such as wind and weather conditions, and assessing the structural requirements for suspending the performance equipment. The team will apply principles of civil and structural engineering to evaluate potential risks and propose solutions to mitigate them. This project offers learners the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in structural analysis, materials science, and safety engineering to a real-world scenario.
The deliverables for this project include a comprehensive feasibility report and safety assessment. The report should detail the structural analysis, environmental considerations, and safety measures required for the performance. Additionally, the team will provide a set of engineering recommendations and a risk mitigation plan to ensure the safe execution of the performance. These deliverables will demonstrate the learners' ability to apply engineering principles to a complex, real-world problem.
