Details

Oceanic Impact aims to enhance public awareness and education about ocean ecosystems by developing an online ocean education database. The goal is to help develop an online database that contains various educational resources, such as articles, videos, and interactive tools, lesson plans, funding opportunities, etc. to facilitate the learning and teaching of marine life and conservation efforts. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of database management [and optional: web development and user experience design]. The team will focus on creating a cohesive and accessible digital resource that can be easily navigated by educators (primarily audience) and potentially parents and students (secondary audience). By integrating multimedia content and interactive elements, the database will serve as an engaging educational tool for schools and the general public.

- Develop a structured database to store and organize educational content.

- [Asset] Design a user-friendly interface that enhances the learning experience.

- [Asset] Integrate multimedia elements to make the content engaging and informative.

- [Asset] Ensure the platform is accessible and easy to navigate for diverse audiences.

Deliverables

The project's main deliverable will include a fully functional online database with a well-organized structure for storing educational content and constantly searching for and adding new content. If there are capacity and time, the team will deliver a user-friendly website interface that incorporates multimedia elements such as videos and interactive tools. Additionally, documentation detailing the database architecture and user interface design will be provided. The final deliverable will be a comprehensive testing report ensuring the platform's usability and accessibility.

- A structured and functional online database.

- [Optional] A user-friendly website interface with multimedia integration.

- [Optional] Documentation of database architecture and user interface design.

- [Optional] A comprehensive testing report on usability and accessibility.
