Details

Currently there is a module in COOP 290 related to workplace expectations which analyzes themes such as professionalism, workplace bullying, and office etiquette. This project would focus on supplementing that material with a communications module which would provide more specific content for students to assist with the transition to the professional workplace.

A primary focus would be on communication including:

· What to expect on your first day, week, term

· Communication styles

· Setting communication expectations with your supervisor

· Collaborating with teams

· Professional e-mail correspondence

Mentorship

I will collaborate with the student to choose the focus the material and discuss what type of material will be most appropriate. We will meet regularly to discuss progress and brainstorm.

About the company

The Co-operative Education Stream is an educational option available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Program at MacEwan University. Co-operative Education(Co-op) began at MacEwan Unviersity as a mandatory program requirement for the Supply Chain Management Co-op Major. In Fall 2017, Co-op became an optional offering available to students from all Bachelor of Commerce Majors. In the Co-op stream students complete four courses: a pre-employment seminar (COOP 290) which focuses on career development, job search, and preparation for work experience. The other three courses are three four-month work experience courses.
