Geography of British Columbia

Attention business owners of British Columbia!Engage with our dedicated students to address real-world challenges in geographical analysis. In this program, students will investigate the physical, cultural, economic, and historical characteristics of various provincial regions in British Columbia. They will examine settlement and development patterns, with a focus on industries like forestry, mining, and tourism prevalent in the Columbia Basin region.

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from College of the Rockies to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.Learners in this program/experience receive a comprehensive introduction to key principles in structural and historical geology. From exploring geologic time to studying fossil records and mineral deposits, students dive into the Earth's history, dating techniques, organic evolution, and natural resource issues.

They explore sampling techniques, data description, theoretical distributions, significance testing, and spatial relationships.We are seeking passionate business owners eager to engage with students and foster an environment of collaborative learning. An ideal project will have a clear problem statement related to geography or spatial data analysis. Projects can range from research-focused initiatives to practical tasks.
