Requirements

Starting this September, a team of 5 Business/IT students will dedicate 125+ hours over the full semester developing and/or implementing a custom IT plan, recommendations, and strategic solutions for your organization.

Based on your challenge or opportunity, the student-consultant group(s) will provide detailed insights that can assist your organization in overcoming IT obstacles and becoming more competitive and effective overall.

Project examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic use of information technology: Facilitating the execution of your business strategy through creative and strategic deployment of an existing IT program.
  • Using information technology as a strategic weapon: Identifying and creating a sustainable competitive advantage through information technology.
  • Managing security and risks: Identifying IT system risks and preventative measures.
  • IT management analysis: Identifying who determines the IT strategy in your organization and how effective your IT governance is, including developing recommendations for improvement.
  • Using IT to improve organizational effectiveness: Identifying areas of opportunity for efficiency/ productivity and the most effective and comprehensive IT solutions.
  • Managing competitive landscape changes: Identifying and implementing relevant IT systems in anticipation of or in response to industry changes.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Companies are expected to provide written feedback to student project reports.

Be available or have a colleague available to oversee the project and periodically provide support to the student team based on the timeline outlined under milestones.

Meet with students twice, once for the initial meeting, and once for the final presentation to the company. More meetings are encouraged to track the student team's progress.
