Our students have a strong understanding of history, political economy and international relations in Asia, and the religious, social and political traditions that impact on trade and investment, international exchange and cooperation. They can assist you to navigate complex cultures and assess how this might shape future business and professional practice.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Final outcome deliverable is negotiable between the organisation and educator.

Students from international relations and business backgrounds will help your company understand the market and grow your business in Asia. We can also assist you to contribute to the achievement of the UN SDGs. With a high level of cultural understanding, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, our students will analyse the local context for you and can provide insight on supply and demand, as well as potential risks in business operation. At the end of the project you will be provided with a report or plan as described above, in the format that you desire.

Project Examples

Requirements

Our students can:

  • Develop a business or marketing plan to target people in Asia, in countries such as China and Taiwan, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand or Vietnam.
  • Deliver a marketing report to identify new markets in the above countries, including local needs, competitor analysis, and local economic trends
  • Provide a contextual analysis comparing the cultural, political and economic dimensions of the context of business and professional practice one or more of these markets
  • Devise commercial or professional strategies for interaction with an Asian country or sub-region

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
