Learner goals and capabilities

Upper level students from Trinity Western University's Game Development program are looking to apply the skills they have learned on multiple year-long team game-making projects. Some students are primarily game designers, some are sound and music focused, some are strong narrative writers, and some have basic skills in programming. All have worked with the Unity game engine, Jira project management, and know how to work well as a small team to produce fully functional video games from start to finish.

Project Examples

Requirements

Either small team video game projects or roles on larger projects, e.g.:

  • a small app game or PC game, either from scratch or based on client goals and needs
  • making design, programming, music, or sound design contributions to a project already in process

The course this is part of requires students to do about 10 hours per week for 12 weeks--120 hours over about 3 months. This means the project scope cannot be massive. Continuing the project longer than this fall 2024 semester is possible depending on negotiations with students.
