business consulting business strategy communication strategy researchAs part of George Brown College’s Human Resources Post Graduate Program, students are required to complete a virtual work-term as the last semester of the 12 month program. Students going into this workterm will have completed two semesters of in-class learning, and this work-term helps them to put that learning into action through practical, real-world experience.
We are looking for companies to participate in the program that have human resource initiatives they require support with. Each company will be asked to fill out a brief to inform the students of the business issue you are looking to solve. Successful companies will be assigned a team of 4 students that will work full time to research, provide options and tactics and develop a final presentation for you to utilize. A professor will be assigned to each student group to act as a coach throughout and ensure the plan is completed properly and meets the needs of your business objectives.
Learners
Students that graduate from this program are ideally suited to take on roles such as:
- Human resource coordinator
- Human resource assistant
- Human resource administrator
- Human resource generalist
- Junior staffing recruiter
- HRIS coordinator
- Payroll coordinator

Project Examples
Requirements
Projects that would fit well with the students learning objectives and what they have been working on in class would include initiatives that involve:
- Human resource strategies
- Recruitment and selection (developing a recruitment and selection strategy and assisting with this process)
- Human resource consulting
- Developing human resource manuals, guides, etc.
- Human resource policy and procedure development
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
