communication finance project proposals marketing project management consulting critical thinking presentations leadership research reportsYukon University’s Business Administration Capstone is an opportunity for upper-year students to apply their business administration knowledge to real-world problems faced by northern organizations. Capstone projects could include multiple functional areas such as strategy, finance, operations, marketing, and innovation. Projects are completed in a 7-month period, requiring a 3-hour weekly commitment from learners.
Learners are equipped with skills in business theory, project management, and critical analysis, and are aiming to build leadership and consulting capabilities.
Organizations will provide initial 5-7 minute videos that will be presented to students and contain their project idea. Ideas are selected by the students based on their interest and potentially their areas of strength. Student teams manage the project and communications directly with the Organizations, with oversight from the professor. Some project ideas may not match, and if this is the case, we will contact you for other opportunities or the possibility of participating in a different term.
Organizations are expected to engage with learners through regular communication, provide all necessary project details, attend the final presentation (preferably in person), and give professional feedback on the project deliverables via the Riipen platform.
Learners
Final Project Report: Teams will collaboratively write a professional consulting report, evaluated on content quality and presentation. The report must meet project objectives, be useful to the client, and showcase professionalism in formatting, structure, and writing style.
Presentation: Teams will deliver a 10-15 minute presentation summarizing key aspects of their project. The presentation will be assessed on content, delivery, and the team's ability to engage with and respond to questions from the community partner, instructor, and attendees.
