computer science development communicationThe School of Mathematical and Computational Science Society (SMCS Society) is a student-run organization that focuses on providing a welcoming environment to all the students of UPEI, usually those who are pursuing a major associated with SMCS. For this competition, we are looking for an organization to provide our student with a realistic business or software problem. This will be a one day event in teams of 3-6. The problem must have an aspect for all levels of programming skilll.

Project Examples
Requirements
This is a new event that we are looking to put into place, so we are interested in working with many different organizations. This would be an excellent opportunity for both the student and yourself. To partner with this competition, you would be needed to provide us with one or more possible problems to present our students. The problem could be a previous or current issue that your organization had to work through, or it could be a problem that might occur in the future.
Examples may include:
- Making a simple website to teach someone about a topic.
- Writing task a simple task automation software
- making a wrapper around an API
- Simple web scraping
We are open to having specific problems or more of a broad topic/problem and must also be appealing to a wide variety of skill sets
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
