Details

Our company collects and processes large amounts of data from thousands of customers. It is of utmost importance that we keep this data confidential and safely manage personal information.

We would like to collaborate with students to create an incident response plan. This plan would help our company respond to cybersecurity threats and maintain customer trust.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our mission and vision statements.
  • Completing a needs assessment.
  • Identifying phases of the incident response process.
  • Recommending procedures to identify and recover from cybersecurity threats.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Testing the incident response plan through a cybersecurity drill.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of company values
  • Identification of an appropriate incident response process
  • Recommendations for our incident response plan

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting a cybersecurity drill to identify areas of improvement in the plan

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report.
  • A 10-minute presentation.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission and vision statements
  • Our current incident response procedures
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
  • Hands on experience in within the context of global health and electronic/mobile health projects
  • Access tools, technology, and protected datasets.
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives that impact maternal and child health outcomes globally
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals in the field
  • Certificate of completion and letter of recommendation based on performance
  • Experience in implementing partnership, collaboration and advocacy strategies
  • Experience working on public health issues/initiatives with a variety of stakeholders
  • Access mentors, support systems, and the community of highly skilled technologists, builders, and domain experts through the Google-for-Startups Sustainable Development Program as well as through the leadership at Google, and separately, you can also tap into the resources and network of the South Park Commons community

OGOW Health is an award-winning mobile health (m-health) organization that specializes in providing customized m-health solutions to empower healthcare providers, caregivers, and governments in under-served communities.

OGOW Health's solution focuses on digitizing medical records, promoting public health interventions such as maternal and infant health, and providing easy-to-access and timely care and patient information to providers and caregivers to aid in informed decision-making.

Our beneficiaries range from adults, caregivers, children, and newborns, to frontline health workers, policymakers, and health care professionals operating in all tiers of the health system. Importantly, our platform also supports NGO leaders, administrators, and government officials to access consolidated data on various health indicators for reporting and to better inform decision-making and planning.
