Scope: We are looking for Students that can help create and develop a workshop and present (virtually) to an audience (e.g., youth, clients or volunteers/staff in our organization & community) about the social issue of racism & inequality in Canada, and relate how our organization is contributing to the social issue, within the following initiatives:
- Workshops will focus on creating an awareness of and action on the social issue of racism and Inequality that impacts a community. The action portion includes our organizational offerings and how we contribute to addressing the social issue.
- This includes information on promising/best practices to promote equity and inclusion in order to address the social issue involving our organization (e.g., specific resources, initiatives, programs, strategies, educational materials from our organization)
- Briefing paper or summary report to inform our organization/relevant stakeholders about key research findings and considerations. To provide information quickly and effectively about the social issues relevant to our organization. Students will find, gather, and report on information from a variety of sources (academic sources and great literature)

Project Goals/Deliverables:
- A full virtual workshop where students will present their final presentation and invite community partners to participate in the virtual workshop presented by students.
- A copy of workshop presentation materials (e.g., copy of PowerPoint presentation and any other materials).
- A final briefing paper/summary report to inform our organization/relevant stakeholders about key research findings and considerations
Team Organization
Team of up to as many students as possible, with each person assigned to each deliverable agreed upon. The team will have a Project Manager who will interact with the BBYF’s Project Manager.

Communication
We will plan to communicate with our virtual interns using these communication tools: Riipen messaging, ZOOM, Email, phone/text, etc.

Job Title: Project Manager
Students will be supervised during their internship through Zoom and other online work sharing platforms, specifically during working hours. Students will be guided and mentored by our senior project manager along with our student Project Manager as well. They will have access to our Senior project manager Tasha, any time needed during business hours by phone/email and after business hours through email. Students will also have the option of connecting with their student project manager for support during the duration of the internship.
About the company
The Building Black Youth Foundation (B.B.Y.F.), is a not for profit children's organization and social enterprise, geared to providing children cultural based learning opportunities and educational support for Black/BIPOC(but not limited to) children/youth and families across Canada. B.B.Y.F. is starting with virtual Early Childhood Development programs, supports for families and learning opportunities specifically geared towards teaching an afrocentric uplifting curriculum, building self worth through learning ancestral and historical knowledge. Our mission at Building Black Youth Foundation(B.B.Y.F.), is to empower our Black/BIPOC(but not limited to) children/youth, help them build their self worth and self belief, through learning uplifting historical, cultural knowledge. We know that positive cultural reinforcement from a young age, greatly increases the process of building self worth within children, as well as supports leading them in the right direction towards a great future.
