In this project, the student will assist the company in the research and development effort of the hydraulophone.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarization with the functional working of the hydraulophone
  • Perform the appropriate background research on the problem to solve
  • Design a solution for the problem
  • Test and revise the solution until it’s acceptable to the design team


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the functional workings of the hydraulophone
  • Understanding the problem to solve
  • Proposed solution on how to solve the problem

Final deliverables should include

  • Documentation of the proposed solution
  • Any related drawings and CAD for the proposed solution


Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • The inner workings and technical specifications of the hydraulophone
  • Training resources and tutorial videos on FreeCAD software
  • Design decisions, problems or anything else the students might encounter

Further details on the project will be provided to the student once matched.

We will support the students with:

  • Background materials (research paper and research thesis) on the hydraulophone
  • a walkthrough/tutorial on the functional working of the hydraulophon
  • access to previous relevant projects
  • weekly meeting and feedback from the supervisor until the completion of the project
