online communication marketing research project management digital project managementYour business will collaborate with a group of students from a Design Process Analytics course.
These students will work in teams of 3-4 to conduct in-depth market research tailored to your business needs. Each group will analyze your target audience, competitive landscape, and industry trends, using both primary and secondary research methods to provide actionable insights.
Learners
Deliverables will include a comprehensive market research report highlighting key findings, data visualizations, and strategic recommendations to inform your business decisions. To ensure a consistent experience across all groups, all students will follow a standardized research framework provided by the instructor.
The students’ goal is to provide your business with valuable market insights that can shape future marketing strategies and design decisions.
This project also allows your business to benefit from fresh perspectives while supporting the professional growth of aspiring digital marketers.
Timeline:
Students meet with business partners between Feb. 10-14th.
Market research and deliverables will be finalized and submitted by March 14th.

Project Examples
Requirements
Learners in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Market Research Analysis: Identifying key industry trends, audience demographics, and competitive positioning
- Customer Persona Development: Creating detailed profiles to better understand and target your ideal customers
- Competitor Benchmarking: Analyzing competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in your industry
- Brand Perception Study: Conducting surveys or focus groups to assess customer perceptions of your brand
- Content Performance Audit: Reviewing existing content (social media, website, etc.) to determine effectiveness and suggest improvements
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available via message on Riipen with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.
What data do you have to share (eg. your website or social media analytics) ?
Provide a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address learners’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.
