Project Examples
Requirements
Starting Winter 2023 a group of 3-7 student-consultants will spend 25 hours per student (125 hours per team) working with your organization to recommend and implement a content management system (CMS) that best fits your needs. They will also provide training and reference materials, enabling your team to keep the site updated and organized.
Due to COVID we are experiencing a reduction in the number of students taking our capstone class. Because of this we are limiting the number clients to three. In the event that we do nto have students to staff three client projects we may be forced to cancel 1 or more projects. We hope that if you are serious about with us you will keep in contact with us during the year. We need to know if you have to cancel as soon as possible so we can find and collaborate with other clients. To that end we want to establish lines of direct communication (email and phone) and check in with each other frequently before the project starts in the fall.
Our student project teams use the Agile project management technology and knowledge gained from their computing and digital media courses, the student-consultants to work with you to design and implement an effective CMS website.
Please refer to the link below for past projects and clients.

Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic zoom, emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address student’s questions or provide additional information.
This class employs the Agile methodology, which favors communication over documentation. Therefore, the student teams will communicate with you at least once a week by zoom, email or phone.
The client makes the decisions. It is the students responsibility to do the research and provide analysis and recommendation for website extensions, such as plugins, themes, and JavaScript libraries.
Be available to work with the students to review their weekly sprint results and provide timely quality feedback to the team.
For website projects: Client is responsible for providing all website content. Content includes words and media. Media includes, audio, video, images in appropriate web format. Our students are not content creators, they are website developers.
For website projects: Client is responsible for providing at least 50% of the website content before the class starts. Websites are designed around their content. Without website content, we can not design or build a website.
Clients - please read the class and project documents attached to this Riipen project. If after reading these docs you believe your project s a good fit, lets have a zoom conversation ASAP. Please post an email and phone number on Riipen so we can communicate a little faster. Thanks
We prefer our students to work within their CMS skill-set. Our students know WordPress and Drupal, and are usually much better at WordPress. If you have a CMS project outside their known knowledge base and are willing and able to instruct and mentor our students so they can learn a new CMS tool or process, we will consider working with you if the project is a good fit.
