Bring on one or more students from the Software Support and Software Development co-op programs at Mohawk College to be your virtual intern! Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the work term (Summer 2024), connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
- This is a paid co-op opportunity. Students would be hired as employees of your company and covered under your WSIB insurance.
- Students are available between May and August 2024, and require a total of 420 hours of paid work to qualify for co-op credit.
- Hourly wages are set based on minimum wage in Ontario ($16.55/hour).

Expected outcomes of the co-op experience include:
- Student working a minimum of 420 hours during the work term (May to August 2024)
- Student being paid an hourly wage (at least minimum wage in Ontario: $16.55/hour)
- Employer completed an Interim and Final Performance Evaluation for the student (each an online survey, ranking the student's skills and providing final feedback)
- Student providing deliverables based on the job/project description, which will vary depending on the scope of the project

Project Examples
Requirements
Project examples may include, but are not limited to:
- Website Development: Conduct a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable; create a design proposal including mock-ups, budget, and timeline; build a fully-functioning website.
- Application Development: Select the best technologies for creating the application or feature (i.e. a real-time chat function); create a fully-functioning application.
- Software Evaluation (e.g. new CRM): Conduct a needs analysis; research available options; evaluate the options within the context of your organization's budget, immediate needs, and projected needs.
- Real-Time Data Visualization: A charting system with basic querying functionality; a dashboard to visualize key performance metrics of your organization or tool
- Database Analysis: Decrease query execution time; change ORM code in hotspots to more efficient SQL.
